Project: Araliya Unawatuna

The first 5-star resort in Unawatuna, Araliya Beach Resort and Spa is equipped with 300+ rooms of various settings which include Guess rooms, Suites, Studios, a Presidential suite and a royal suite. All which are designed to provide a luxurious experience in interior and lighting. The lighting design was carefully coordinated and integrated to the project with the client and architect from the foundation stages of the project.

The hotel consists of two identical and mirrored all day dining restaurants, a tea lounge, two outdoor Shisha lounges and a luxury sky lounge, Beach club restaurants and Infinity pool and Bar.

In addition, the beach club is equipped with its own restaurant and bar, a premium bar and an underground night club to provide the best beach experience adjoining the beach and also a pool. The hotel is also equipped with a spa, gym, conference hall and a children’s play area which are all integrated to the luxury beach theme of the hotel which all required individual attention for the lighting design.

The main building also has a large banquet hall equipped to accommodate 400guests with a stunning view of the beach. The beach club also has its own banquet hall which can be Customized for any event.

The immense landscape was the biggest challenge in the lighting design as Itrequired individual attention to flora and fauna and to integrate to the luxury aesthetics of the resort. The Facade lighting of the main building was also carefully considered to enhance the height and the majestic structure of the building. The facade lighting of the beach club provides a unique ambient in the night time for the users and as a view from the beach.
